CANYON "SUPER CAFE" BONNE
This Black and Chrome Cafe Racer is built for Speed!
Adam bought me a half-arsed, semi-famous Custom Bonneville a couple of years ago...it might have looked good in the pictures flying round the Internet, but it was absolutely horrible to ride and poorly designed. So I stripped it down and totally and fully rebuilt the whole bike with all new bearings and seals to how I thought it should look, with enhanced performance, handling, reliability and a unique look.
I wanted it to be a subtle but pure modern cafe racer with no problems!
To start with, a set of Talon wheels and Avon Distanzia tires were procured. Pierre at Works Performance built the custom suspension to suit Adam's riding style and weight. I cut the seat down and re-upholstered it with the Porsche Carrera vinyl and a set of Canyon Motorcycles Custom Leather Strap-Ons. Norman Hyde M Bars and rearsets are classic and clean, so they all went to Andrews Powder Coating along with boxes of small parts. I also machined all the clock brackets off--yup no clocks, no mirrors, no turn signals.....BASICS ME MAN!
I love the high pipe look on the new Twins, and the free-flowing wrapped B/C high pipes fit the bike perfectly and sound well throaty! The motor was so clean--I treated it to a set of high lift cams. CR race carbs and a full set of chrome covers makes the motor pop like a porn star!
Scrambler engine bars look great, fill the bike out and also look after those wicked chrome covers and give the bike a great 60’s feel.
The switchgears are the next thing to be consigned to the skip and Beringer brakes and controls will minimise the bars on its next yearly visit to the shop.
One of my favorite bikes I have done, it's classic and clean, sits well, and just screams FAST--even on the lift!!
Adam keeps that throttle pinned and rides fast, like he says, "it’s just a hell of a lot of fun to thrash around the Canyons!"
Is it illegal? In keeping to the true British Cafe Racer Tradition ........
Of course it bloody well isn’t !
Love this bike!
